Project Explorer

Emmy's is a proud sponsor of Project Explorer, a nonprofit organization (501c3) that produces a free, online global travel series. Designed for family and classroom, ProjectExplorer.org provides students with access to peoples and places they may never have seen or knew existed.

MISSION: To bring the world into the classroom with free multimedia content and lesson plans that improve students’ global awareness and cross cultural understanding.

Multi-award winning ProjectExplorer.org was founded in 2003 on the principle of exposing students to the diversity of the world’s cultures and histories, particularly to those students for whom travel is an economic impossibility. Featuring over 400 FREE, original educational videos, ProjectExplorer.org’s multimedia series have become a critical part of cross-cultural studies in more than 800 U.S. schools.

A leader in the global education movement, ProjectExplorer.org has been recognized nationally and internationally, including its Founder & Series Director Jenny M. Buccos being named a 2012 White House Champion of Change. The organization is also a two-time recipient of Parents’ Choice Gold Award, selected for the highest production standards and universal human values.
